“Despair is a demon from the 10th Circle of Hell; the level where people who make bad cinematic adaptations of classic toy properties are flayed for eternity. Not your average demon, Despair suffers from severe anxiety disorder and crippling depression. Satan himself even banished Despair from Hell for being a major bummer…
Cast out upon the earth in a fiery geyser of lava and tears, Despair landed in the parking lot of a comedy club that was hosting a weekly open mic night. Despair put his name on the sign-up sheet, got on stage, and told his story. Since then, he has been punishing himself, night after night, on comedy stages of varying quality throughout the Midwest. He dances and lashes himself for audiences with hopes of selling t-shirts and CDs to drunk people who will not wear or listen to them.”
Originally releasing way back in October of last year, the debut figure from comedian and avid toy collector Adam Quesnell - DESPAIR – is set to return for a special Valentines Day release this week! Created to celebrate the release of his album “Can We Afford This Much Despair?” on Stand Up! Records, Adam teamed up with illustrator Terence Brown II, October Toys, and our very own Tru:Tek of the Disart Toylabs to bring the sad little guy to life. Standing at around 3″ of 100% UV resistant rubber, the super squishy figure was designed by Terrance and sculpted by the OT team, coming cast in a Valentine-themed light red/pink by Tru:Tek. Touching down in the FAQ Comedy store this Valentines Day (2/14) at 12pm CST, the super-limited figure will be up for grabs at just $25 with free 1st class shipping… But that’s not all! On top of the Valentines release, Adam will also be offering up the remaining 10 blue/orange marble Despairs too- so if you missed out on this awesome colorway the first time around, this is your last chance to bag it!
